Ye Lady Pyrates of Olde

Found this cool article about real women who were pirates, and awesome at it. Interestingly enough, it was apparently no challenge at all to pass oneself off as a man in those days, although the subterfuge seems almost unnecessary due to the fact that one of the women was named Anne Bonny, and with a name like that they pretty much have to let you be a pirate. The only part of this article I found disappointing was when they describe a particularly good looting .  .  .  of a ship with fifty rolls of tobacco and nine bags of pimiento.  I get why tobacco was valuable but had no idea pimento played such an important part in piracy and trade.
